How we handle your personal data, and your rights under UK GDPR.

Last updated: 6 July 2026

This policy explains how Monk Food ("we", "us", "our") collects and uses your personal data when you visit our website or contact us, and the rights you have under the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and the Data Protection Act 2018.

Who we are

Monk Food is the data controller for the personal data described in this policy. You can reach us at:

What data we collect

We only collect data you choose to give us. When you submit our contact form we collect the details you enter, which may include your name, business name, email address, phone number, business type, and the contents of your message. If you email or call us, we hold the information you provide in that message.

We do not run advertising trackers or third-party analytics that profile you, and we do not sell your data.

How and why we use it

We use your contact details to respond to your enquiry, provide a quote, arrange a demo, and — if you become a customer — to set up and support your service. Our lawful bases are:

  • Consent — when you submit the contact form and agree to be contacted.
  • Legitimate interests — to reply to enquiries and run our business, in a way you would reasonably expect.
  • Contract — where we need to take steps to enter into or perform a contract with you.

Where your data is stored

Contact-form submissions are delivered to us using Google Workspace / Google Sheets and email. Our website is hosted on GitHub Pages. These providers act as our processors and may store data on servers inside or outside the UK/EEA; where data is transferred internationally it is protected by appropriate safeguards such as Standard Contractual Clauses.

Cookies and local storage

This website does not use advertising or tracking cookies. We use a small amount of "local storage" in your browser only to remember that you have seen our cookie notice, and (for site administrators) to keep admin settings on their own device. Our web fonts are served by Google Fonts, which may receive your IP address in order to deliver the fonts; this is described here so you can make an informed choice.

How long we keep it

We keep enquiry data only as long as needed to deal with your request and for a reasonable period afterwards for our records, then delete it. If you become a customer, we keep your data for the life of our relationship and as required by law.

Your rights

Under UK GDPR you have the right to access your data; to have it corrected or erased; to restrict or object to our processing; and to data portability. To exercise any of these, email us at monkfoodanalystic@gmail.com and we will respond within one month.

If you are unhappy with how we handle your data, you can complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The latest version will always be on this page with the date it was last updated.
